Atlantis, Bahamas

Updated: Oct 22, 2023

June 29th – July 6th my days were filled with sun, salt and adventure!

I was lucky enough to have been taken on this trip as the nanny! My “family” took me with, for a week, to the Bahamas! I was paid to (make sure the kids) have fun! We spent a week in Atlantis, staying in the beautiful cove resort penthouse.

This compound of sorts had so much to offer! Let me start off by explaining the set up. There are 3 resorts that make up the Atlantis surrounding. The reef, the cove, and royal towers. The reef are condo style rooms that feature small kitchens in each room but are farthest from the park. The cove is in the middle of the reef and royal towers, more adult oriented in my opinion. It has the nicest beach and an adult only pool with poolside hostesses, great music, and gambling. And last, the royal towers. This is the actual Atlantis hotel where the park is located. It is HUGE and has restaurants, gambling, arcades, shopping, a nightclub, and so much more!

**WARNING** Multiple people staying in the reef had to move rooms because theirs had bed bugs, so….

All of the hotels are connected and by staying at one, you are allowed to go between all three and participate in whatever they have to offer. There are busses that shuttle between the hotels frequently and are not only free of charge, but very frequent and reliable! They can also drop you off at the marina, where you can go on boat tours and experience the shopping and dining they have to offer! The hotels have so many opportunities for kids to have fun at night too, aside from kids club, there is a movie theater, arcade, and aquarium to list a few!

**Also, make sure you plan WAY in advance if you have children. We were unable to do most of the activities onsite because they were all full….So that was a bummer**

While we were here we hired a charter boat to go to the surrounding islands. We visited Gilligan’s Island, Starfish City, Stingray City, and more of which I don’t know the names. We were unable to go to Exuma due to the sea-sickness of our party and that I will never get over…I want to see the PIGGIES!

All-in-all, Bahamas is beautiful and expensive. If you can’t afford to leave the hotel and pay charters to take you around, there isn’t a ton to do.
