We booked a late flight into PHX Friday night, got a rental car through Fox rentals, and headed out on the 4 hour drive to Page. We hiked Upper Antelope Canton, saw Horseshoe Bend, Glen Canyon recreation area, and the Hanging Gardens…even a spontaneous trip to Zion!

~CAR~Fox rental was incredibly cheap, however, the line was so long! So pick your battles based on how much time you have vs. saving money

~HOTEL~We wanted a hotel that provided breakfast and parking, so we landed on Best Western Plus at Lake Powell. It was affordable, very nice, and extremely close to Antelope Canyon!

~ANTELOPE CANYON~The tour we chose was Antelope Canyon Navajo Tours. None of the sites seemed very legit…but our reservation was there when we arrived! And they don’t require you to pay until you get there, so that was great. It said to get there an hour before the tour and thank goodness we did because the card machine wasn’t working, so we had to go back to town and use the ATM.

~HANGING GARDENS~ I wouldn’t really recommend this place, but if you’re just looking for something else to do it’s free...just a microclimate in the middle of the desert

~GLEN CANYON~ The dam was gorgeous, THAT I would recommend! And it’s free

~HORSESHOE BEND~ A short drive, $10 to park, followed by an easy walk to a STUNNING view, of course.

~ZION~ We ended up going to Zion Sunday since the weather wasn’t great. We had hoped to paddle board lake Powell, but this was a beautiful alternate!

We ended up doing everything we really wanted to do all on Saturday. Had we been able to paddle board Sunday, I’d recommend staying longer (maybe) but everything is a pretty short stop or short hike/tour. I was very surprised how much we accomplished Saturday. I definitely wouldn’t need more than a 3 day weekend here.
